Watch the Video for Sturgill Simpson’s Nirvana Cover, “In Bloom”

Sturgill Simpson’s last album, Metamodern Sounds in Country Music, was a revelation in the genre. His next, A Sailor’s Guide to Earth, comes out April 15 via Atlantic, and you can read more information on that release here. One of the tracks on that album is “In Bloom,” a cover of the Nirvana original. Simpson released a music video for the song today, which you can watch above. It starts as a beautiful, slower take on Cobain’s version, and explodes in the second half.
