Photos by Emma McIntyre/Getty, Jason Merritt/GettyLast night, Wu-Tang Clan leader and all-around genius RZA helped R&B up-and-comer SZA announce the June 9 release date for her much-anticipated debut full-length album, CTRL.
The announcement was shared in a video via Top Dawg Entertainment’s Twitter, with the caption, “A word from RZA.” It features a short rap by RZA and SZA lounging on a pile of old computers in what looks like a meadow.

SZA has released three tracks from the record thus far, one of which is her own rendition of PARTYNEXTDOOR and Drake’s “Come and See Me.” The other two are the recently released “Love Galore” with Travis Scott and the heart-wrenching “Drew Barrymore.” Her last effort Z was a powerful debut EP with features from bigwigs like Chance the Rapper and Kendrick Lamar. She also made our list of 25 Great Musicians Under 25 in 2015.
