When SZA’s CTRL came out in June, we already had high expectations, and they were shattered with the timbre of her voice and the spirit of her subject matter—honest, timely, pure. In this rendition of “Go Gina” for Vevo’s LIFT series, SZA takes her true form as a fairy in the woods, singing to herself in the mirror with only a bassist backing her up. There is no pomp or circumstance—there are only the deeper emotional layers of the song.

Forest-bathing may have been the move for SZA: As of late, she’s appeared on The Tonight Show, released a song for HBO’s Insecure and performed at the BET Awards.
