Tank and The Bangas just released their latest single “Spaceships,” which will appear on their forthcoming album due out in 2019.
The New Orleans-based fivesome are celebrated for their expertise in seamlessly defying genre, combining hip-hop, jazz, funk, soul and R&B with slam poetry in all their work. Most recently, Tank and the Bangas unanimously won NPR’s Tiny Desk contest with their single “Quick,” released in 2017.
There’s more new music to come as Tank and The Bangas work on the follow-up to their debut album, 2013’s Think Tank. In the meantime, jam out to “Spaceships” below and watch the group perform the then-unreleased track in the Paste Studio last September.
Tarriona “Tank” Ball (lead vocalist, songwriter), Norman Spence (synth keys, bass), Merell Burkett (keyboards), Joshua Johnson (drums) and Albert Allenback (alto saxophone, flute) will also be touring around North American this fall. The shows—alongside co-headliner Big Freedia and featuring Naughty Professor—include stops in New York, Los Angeles, Boston and more. For a full list of tour dates, keep scrolling.
