Taylor Swift Returns With “Look What You Made Me Do”: Listen
The first single from Reputation, out Nov. 10.
“I’m sorry, the old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now. Why? Oh, because she’s dead!”
That’s according to Taylor Swift herself in her skronky new song, “Look What You Made Me Do,” the first single from her recently announced forthcoming album, Reputation. It’s been three years since Swift’s mega-selling 1989, and she’s definitely coming out swinging. “Look What You Made Me Do,” which she co-produced with Jack Antonoff, is basically a three-minute diss track aimed at Kanye West, Katy Perry, or whoever fits the bill at the moment.
“I don’t like your little games, don’t like your tilted stage,” she sings in an icy alto. “The role you made me play, the fool. No, I don’t like you.”
Swift had been teasing the album earlier this week by wiping her social-media accounts and then returning with a sequence of glitchy snake videos. She finally announced on Wednesday that Reputation would be due out Nov. 10, and promised a single Thursday night. Part 1: complete.
