Tenacious D Announce Their First Tour in Five Years

After five years of kicking back, Tenacious D are hitting the road. On Tuesday the humor-rock duo encompassing Jack Black and Kyle Gass announced a North American tour, which will commence June 16 in Québec and finish up on Nov. 13 in Chicago.

The announcements arrived in typical Tenacious D fashion: by way of a cartoon tour trailer in which an animated Black and Gass aimlessly play videogames and spit off various expletives, brainstorming methods for paying next month’s rent. The solution: a new album … probably. “Dude, that’s gonna take us like five more years,” Black bellows in the clip. Whether we’ll get a new Tenacious D album within the year is up for debate, but the tour is set in stone. Tickets go on sale this Friday, May 18 at 10 a.m. local time.

You can see the band’s tour dates and watch the tour trailer below. Tenacious D are also fresh off a memorable Shaky Knees set, in which they announced a new movie, due out this October—read our recap right here.
