The Beatles Come to Lego in The Yellow Submarine
Images via LegoLike it or not, The Beatles are inescapable. Reissues, remasters, mashups, movies, documentaries, posters, prints, every kind of merchandise imaginable, and now The Fab Four have been made into Lego.
To be specific, the Yellow Submarine is getting a Lego set. Totalling 553 pieces, the set comes with minifigures for John, Paul, George and Ringo, along with a Jeremy Hillary Boob Ph.D. figure. The top of the submarine comes off and there’s room in the cockpit for the four to fit inside. There are four periscopes, two propellers that rotate, a rudder and other accessories referencing The Beatles’ journeys.
The set began as a submission to Lego Ideas, the company’s suggestion box, so to speak, where fans can submit their own builds and vote on which ones they’d like to see made official. Lego and Beatles fan Kevin Szeto submitted the Yellow Submarine and after enough fans backed it, Lego selected it to be made. Speaking to The Guardian, Szeto said:
