The Breeders Announce U.S. Tour, Share Video for “Nervous Mary”

A little arts and crafts never hurt anybody, and The Breeders take that into account in their new video for “Nervous Mary,” in which Sesame Street meets The Breeders: The band replace frontwomen Kim and Kelly Deal with puppets and rock out in the middle of a Dutch street.
Everything about the video is DIY, from the filming to the puppets themselves. According to The Breeders’ label 4AD, the puppets were made by professional puppet-maker and Finnish fan Milla Risku. Despite their describing the video as having been filmed “In the middle of a busy street in Nijmegen,” there’s not one car in sight; they must’ve found the only three quiet minutes in that city.
“Nervous Mary” is a cut from All Nerve, the band’s first release in 10 years. Along with the video, they’ve announced a string of U.S. shows in September and October. The Deal sisters also recently hopped on Courtney Barnett’s latest project Tell Me How You Really Feel. You can check out the full list of dates and puppet-assted music video below.
