The Jerry Douglas Band – Full Session

Paste Studio NYC (New York, NY), 07/13/2017 - Live

Dobro master Jerry Douglas and bassist Daniel Kimbro of The Jerry Douglas Band brought their virtuosic bluegrass/jazz fusion to Paste Studios, where they played two songs from their forthcoming record, What If. They started things off with a lively cover of the classic track “Hey Joe,” made famous by Jimi Hendrix but recorded by myriad artists before and after. Next came a version of “genius” Tom Waits’s  “2:19.” Douglas went solo for the final song of the set, playing an instrumental medley on his Dobro including his songs “A Tribute To Peador O’Donnell” and “Lil Ro Ro,” plus The Allman Brothers Band’s “Little Martha.” You can catch the full, seven-piece Jerry Douglas Band on tour across the U.S. throughout the summer and back in New York City at City Winery on Aug 10.
