Cleveland’s The Lighthouse and the Whaler have embraced their hometown’s DIY spirit and taken it to heart. Since self-releasing two albums (2009’s The Lighthouse and the Whaler and 2012’s This Is an Adventure), the band has grown from a folk-leaning outfit into a fully realized band that blurs genres. The momentum continues with their new EP, Paths. Envisioning a sound that blends the likes of M83 and The Lumineers, brothers Michael and Matthew LoPresti formed TLATW with a simple aim: to make something beautiful.
