The Linda Lindas Release New Single “Too Many Things,” Announce Summer Tour

After their performance of “Racist, Sexist Boy” at the Los Angeles Public Library went viral in May 2021, it seemed like everyone in the music world cast their gaze on the Linda Lindas and their budding star potential. Drawing influence from acts like riot grrl and the Runaways, the Linda Lindas quickly became the punk rock band that America—and the world—needed. Upon the release of their anticipated debut, self-titled LP in 2022, sisters Mila and Lucia de la Garza, cousin Eloise Wong and family friend Bela Salazar became one of the most important acts in the zeitgeist.

To build on the momentum earned from The Linda Lindas, the band has released “Too Many Things,” an anthemic slice of rock ‘n’ roll apt for video game soundtracks and revenge montages in teen comedies. There’s a hunger and poise in the composition, which is as polished as it is roaring with incalculable potential. With Bela and Lucia’s guitars soaring across a plane of pop-punk and garage rock, it’s more clear than ever that the Linda Lindas are still the future.

Their energy and coolness endure, as their influences slowly take the backseat to their own emerging style and finesse—which they will bring with them to Coachella, Boston Calling and Lollapalooza. Starting in July, the Linda Lindas will open nine shows for beloved pop-punk crew Paramore.

“We had a nonstop, jam-packed, and awesome 2022 playing shows, going on tours, and meeting fans and making friends across the U.S. as well as Spain, Germany, England, Japan, Canada, and Mexico. After taking a short break to catch our breath, recharge, focus on school, and go back into the studio, we are ready to share a song about how everything unfolds so fast all the time—the surprises, the disappointments, and the opportunities that pass us by at every moment,” the band said in a statement.
