Scranton, N.J.-based punk outfit The Menzingers have unveiled details of their forthcoming sixth studio album Hello Exile, set for release Oct. 4 via Epitaph.
The announcement arrives with the first cut taken from the album, a vulnerable portrait of longing compounded by jangling guitars and gushy, anthemic vocals titled “Anna.” The single’s accompanying video is just as heartsick as the lyrics itself, finding a young man capturing the city of Philadelphia on camera to send to the same lover that vocalist Greg Barnett is longing for: “I have so much to tell you / Please come back to Philadelphia / This place ain’t the same without you Anna / You got a great big new promotion / But now you travel so damn much.”
