Music fans nationwide went into a frenzy on Tuesday when Stevie Nicks announced her upcoming solo tour, her first since 2012. The supporting act was also revealed, which is none other than rock ‘n’ roll veterans The Pretenders. As exciting as this is, the good news does not end there; on Wednesday, frontwoman Chrissie Hynde announced The Pretenders’ new album, the first since 2008.
The new album, Alone, available for pre-order here, will be released Oct. 21 and the first single, “Holy Commotion,” was released this morning. The new single hints at a more pop-driven album, which is a departure from The Pretenders’ last studio album, 2008’s Break Up the Concrete. The new sound may be attributed to the album’s producer, The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach, who, like Hynde, is also from Akron, Ohio.
The upcoming tour will be the Pretenders’ first time playing together live since 2012. Tickets go on sale Sept. 12 on Ticketmaster. Listen to the new single and find the Alone tracklist and the band’s tour dates below.
