The Shins Announce New LP Heartworms, Offer Second Single
Images via Matt Roberts/Getty, ColumbiaAs could’ve been expected, especially when the Shins released the kooky and spooky “Dead Alive” back in October and promised new music in August, James Mercer and crew officially have a new album on the way.
Heartworms, the band’s fifth LP, is the first offering from the Shins since 2012’s “bright and stunning” Port of Morrow. “Dead Alive” appears on Heartworms, along with 10 other tracks, including the easy-moving, luxuriously chiming second single, “Name for You.” “Have you really got room in your life?” Mercer wonders aloud in that unmistakable and exuberant voice of his. If it’s another Shins album, there’s certainly more room in our lives.
