The Strokes to Reunite for “Global Comeback” in 2019

Alt-rock icons The Strokes will reunite live in 2019, with their first confirmed appearance taking place at Spain’s Bilbao BBK Live festival in July. The festival slot is part of a planned “global comeback,” according to a festival press release (as confirmed by a rep for the band), hinting at more tour dates to come.

The band’s last live performance was in 2017, while their last release was 2016’s Future Present Past EP.

2018 saw a host of releases from the band’s various side projects. Singer Julian Casablancas’ The Voidz released their album Virtues in March. Guitarist Albert Hammond, Jr. released his fourth solo album, Francis Trouble, that same month.

Find the full Bilbao lineup below. Other performers include Thom Yorke, Weezer, Brockhampton, Vince Staples, Princess Nokia, Idles, Nils Frahm, Hot Chip, Shame, Rosalía, Sleaford Mods and more. Casablancas will play a set with The Voidz, as well.
