After playing the song live both in New York and Baltimore, The War On Drugs have released the studio version of “Pain” from their forthcoming album A Deeper Understanding.

“Pain” follows a string of impressive releases from the band’s fourth studio album, including lead single “Holding On,” “Strangest Thing” and the ambitious “Thinking of a Place,” which is one of Paste’s favorites of the year so far.

The band will perform their new single on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Aug. 9. The War on Drugs also head out on tour in support of their new record this fall.
