As you proceed to listen to the following four songs by the English band The Wave Pictures, you will be treated to the following imagery:
There is a crow cracking open a snail like an egg. After it does that, it’s going to be hung on a wall, for all to see.

Jitter-bugging legs that sound as if they’ve been amputated from a body or retrieved from the scene of an accident and held onto for “old time’s sake” or something similar.

A sense that mouths can be bought, and therefore sold. That they can be transplanted onto faces like Mr. Potato-heads.

Kisses and doggy-paddling can amount to a full swimming machine.

Hair that’s made out of spaghetti and that its wildness – probably smell, color and consistency (ie. sauciness) – could be impressionable enough to make a person unforgettable.

Tending to chickens. A thankless job, save for the eggs that are collected and then turned into omelets by someone with a skillet.

Big, blue eyes. They could be ours, yours, anyone’s.

The thought of a maddening descent as lead singer David Tattersall sings, “Take a look/Maybe this is the face that will haunt you/Maybe these are the eyes that will drive you out of your mind.”

The unemployed masses.

John Wayne movies and the unemployed people that watch them.

Fire eating white skin and cracked knuckles.
