The xx’s New Album Could be Released This Week
Photo by Karl Walter/GettyIndie pop group The xx have been teasing a new project throughout the past week with five 55-second tracks. The clips, which lack titles or credits, have been added to the band’s “In The Studio” Spotify playlist and are thought to be from the highly anticipated follow-up to 2012’s Coexist. The British trio is scheduled for an interview and performance on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show this coming Thursday, Nov. 10, during which they may possibly announce, or even release, their third album.
Furthermore, a Reddit user discovered 12 new tracks attributed to The xx on Shazam, all listed under an album titled I See You. The music identification app has been responsible for similar artist leaks in the past, and pulled the album’s listing within days of its discovery. Here are the track names, as reported by the Redditor:
“Brave For You”
“Dangerous”
“I Dare You”
“Lips”
“Naive”
“On Hold”
“Performance”
“Replica”
“Seasons Run”
“Say Something Loving”
“Test Me”
“A Violent Noise”
Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show airs Thursday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. Until then, listen to the 55-second teasers here.
