Austin’s The Young make you feel like part of you is in one car and the other part of you is in a second car and the two cars are passing each other at a pedestrian speed. You’re able to watch the passing and you’re able to record it photographically, by memory. You’re able to log it all and still understand that it’s very fucked up that this is happening.
You’re not supposed to exist in two different moving vehicles at the same time. You turn and you see a man in his yard, holding a hose with two hands, watering his lawn carefully and just as slowly as you’re passing the other car. You feel like you’re getting some good thinking in, that that moon is actually going to be on fire later tonight and that you’ve finally mastered how best to regulate your heart rate.
