This Is Lorelei signs to Matador

Nate Amos’ solo project will also hit the road later this year, opening for Bleachers and playing Kilby Block Party.

This Is Lorelei signs to Matador

This Is Lorelei, the project of singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Nate Amos, has signed to Matador Records, joining his other project, Water From Your Eyes, on the famed indie label. He’s also announced a string of summer and fall tour dates with support from Colin Miller and @. In addition to a headline tour, This Is Lorelei is set to support Bleachers on select dates of their upcoming tour and will be playing Kilby Block Party this weekend.

Amos has released two studio albums and over 20 mixtapes and EPs under the This Is Lorelei moniker since the project’s inception in 2012. In 2024, his breakthrough LP, Box For Buddy, Box For Star, marked his label debut on Double Double Whammy. We named it the 25th best album of that year. He followed it up with 2025’s Holo Boy, a sampler of re-recorded songs from Amos’s pre-signing back catalog—a sort of discog primer-meets-greatest hits compilation. In her review, Manon Buson wrote: “The music presents us with yet another robust block of material that allows his idiosyncratic songwriting to truly shine.”

This Is Lorelei has also gained a reputation as the most-coverable act in indie rock. The recent Super Deluxe edition of Box For Buddy featured covers from MJ Lenderman, Waxahatchee, Jeff Tweedy, Hayley Williams, and more, and Cameron Winter sang “Where’s Your Love Now?” at one of his Los Angeles shows in 2025. A This Is Lorelei cover (or collab) is akin to indie musician jury duty (but, from the looks of it, way more fun). Colin Miller, @, and Jack Antonoff better start practicing their covers now, just to be safe. See Amos’ upcoming tour dates below.
