Brighton, U.K., quartet Thyla have been catching fire with their unique dream-pop and post-punk fusion, and a string of standout singles, “Pristine Dream,” “I Was Biting,” “Blame” and “Tell Each Other Lies.” Today (Nov. 21), they’ve just shared another new one in the form of “Blue.”

Produced by Macks Faulkron and mixed by Alex Newport (At The Drive-In, The Mars Volta), “Blue” is marked by Millie Duthie’s sparkling vocals and transfixing presence, which linger over searing guitars that fluctuate from gentle dreamy bliss to fiery, head-banging lawlessness. “Blue” is another track that cements Thyla’s potential and showcases their sweet spot—engrossing post-punk finesse and ethereal dream-pop divinity.

The band said of their newest cut, “The lyrics came from a similar place to the themes and ideas found in many of our other songs. Blue as in, I got the blues, hones in on the rapid and unstoppable rate of change in the way we interact with people. Blue as in, the color of the Twitter and Facebook interface, makes for an ironic double entendre. The things making us sad, is the color of sad, ‘I’m blue’ is both the cause and the symptom!”

After supporting acts like Sunflower Bean, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever and Slaves in the U.K., Thyla are gearing up for their first U.S. shows next year at SXSW and other dates soon to be announced.
