Daily Dose: Tiña, “Dip”

Daily Dose is your daily source for the song you absolutely, positively need to hear every day. Curated by the Paste Music Team.

British five-piece band Tiña have shared a new single “Dip,” the second-ever digital single for Speedy Wunderground, producer Dan Carey’s buzzy London-based label, which has released singles by black midi, Squid, Black Country New Road and others. “Dip” follows Tiña’s previous track “I Feel Fine,” which was released for Speedy Wunderground’s seven-inch single series, as well as their Year 4 compilation LP.

“Dip” is marked by Joshua Loftin’s glaringly high vocals, which hover over cushy, sparkling guitars. Mixing sensitive college rock with bluesy psych-pop, “Dip” is both a stargazing staple and a soundtrack for that disconnected, mid-afternoon gaze out of the office window. It’s groovy, calming guitar pop done right, and Loftin’s peculiar vocals set it apart from the entire pack.
