Two Dollar Pistols – Hands Up!

Dipping deep into the alt.country bag—all the way back to the Bakersfield sound—Chapel Hill, N.C.’s Two Dollar Pistols have crafted a new set of broken-hearted tales best blasted out of beer-drenched truck-stop jukeboxes. Twang-janglin’ guitars, silvery steel, and low, lonesome vocals abound, the scent of cheap bourbon fresh on the band’s collective breath. In the mid-’60s, Buck Owens crooned, “close up the honky tonks,” but with Hands Up! the Two Dollar Pistols have the old saloon doors swinging once again.
