Ty Segall Announces Benefit Compilation L.A. Recovers

Ty Segall has announced LA Recovers, a benefit disc compiled in an effort to raise funds for Los Angeles fire relief and recovery. The album will include exclusive, previously unreleased cover songs performed by Segall, King Tuff, Jack Name, Redd Kross, Shannon Lay, Shannon & The Clams, and many more. “The idea of doing a comp turned into friends covering each other and we thought that would be a perfect thing to do for some L.A. fire relief charity fundraising,” Segall said in a press release. “One thing was important—that everyone involved needed to have spent creative time living in L.A. It’s been very fun for everyone involved to cover each other’s music!”

LA Recovers will be released by Classic Master Sound Recordings, the DIY label started by Segall and his wife Denée in 2021. The LP will be available on vinyl only and will not have more than one pressing. Proceeds will be donated to One Voice LA and the California Black Freedom Fund.
