Tyler, The Creator Announces New Album Chromakopia

Tyler, The Creator released his last album Call Me If You Get Lost back in 2021, and the interim wait means he’s broken his previous streak of sharing an LP every two years. Now, though, he’s announced his upcoming record Chromakopia, which is out via Columbia Records on October 28. It feels like no coincidence that the album is gracing our ears around Halloween; the Chromakopia art shows Tyler, The Creator wearing an eerily expressionless mask and hair that, depending on your frame of reference, could resemble Mickey Mouse ears or Dracula’s hair in Francis Ford Coppola’s silver screen adaptation.

Just yesterday, the Grammy Award-winning rapper hinted at new music on his social media platforms, including a haunting, monochromatic video called “St. Chroma.” Over a stomped beat and sweet harmonies, Tyler, The Creator whisper-raps fervently, his hushed tones unsettling more than anything else. And his hair’s a bit spikier here, more like cat ears, while the background dancers’ faces are shrouded in black. Tyler, The Creator is known for crafting aesthetically cohesive worlds around each of his releases, and this one in particular features an ominous green shipping container.

Check out the “St. Chroma” video below and, further down, find the album art for Chromakopia. Fans can order the box set edition of the LP here. And while you wait for more Tyler, The Creator news, you can revisit our review of Call Me If You Get Lost.
