In Vagabon’s “Cold Apartment” from her acclaimed debut Infinite Worlds, Lætitia Tamko’s warming vocals showcase vulnerability in its most poignant form: “We are not the same / But I thought you’d wait / And we sit on my cold apartment floor / Where we thought we would stay in love.” Now, she’s released a video that lends a visual to those words.
Created by Faye Orlove, the clip features minimalistic line illustrations of possessions that Tamko’s past lover left behind in her apartment, her own belongings that remind her of her ex, and things they both shared that she still has. Through the drawings of run-of-the-mill items like running shoes, a VHS tape of Pretty Woman and a bottle of cabernet sauvignon, she heavy-heartedly retraces the steps of her past relationship.
