Music News Vic Mensa

Chicago rapper Vic Mensa shared his seven-track EP, There’s Alot Going On, earlier this month, and now, he has released “Free Love” in honor of Pride Month. The track was produced by Papi Beatz and is loaded with features, including LGBT artists Le1f and Halsey, as well as underground rapper Lil B and spoken word artist Malik Yusef.

“What ever happened to free love?” Mensa asks in the song’s hook. The heartfelt track addresses a number of topical moments, including Halsey’s mention of the “Free the Nipple” movement and the Based God’s shout out to Boston for being the first state in the nation to legalize same-sex marriage.

Mensa dropped the track on Soundcloud with a note that he posted on his Twitter, letting his listeners know exactly why LGBT rights are so important to him.
