Long Beach, Calif., rapper Vince Staples will ride the wave of his latest album FM! into a North American headlining tour he’s dubbed the Smile, You’re on Camera Tour. The two-month, 37-city tour will see Staples performing songs from the acclaimed FM! live for the first time.
“SAVE YOUR CHILD SUPPORT ITS TOUR TIME,” the always-sage Staples tweeted Tuesday morning. His Smile, You’re on Camera Tour opens in Tucson, Ariz., on Feb. 1, 2019, running through February and March before concluding at the Fox Theater in Pomona, Calif., not far from Staples’ home turf, on April 3. The tour will feature support from Compton rapper Buddy and Baltimore rapper JPEGMAFIA.
Staples surprise-released FM! via Blacksmith/Def Jam Recordings on Nov. 2. It’s the rapper’s third studio album and his first since 2017’s acclaimed Big Fish Theory.
Incidentally, as Staple raps on FM!’s “Don’t Get Chipped”: “You ain’t seen me at a show? / Oh, you missing out / Swear I bring the realest out.” Fans who haven’t already can see for themselves in 2019.
