Washed Out Announces Dates for Multimedia Tour

Washed Out (real name: Ernest Greene) will go on tour to support his forthcoming album, Mister Mellow, later this summer.

Mister Mellow will be a multimedia album, with each track accompanied by different stop-motion, collage, claymation and hand-drawn animated visuals.

For the tour, Washed Out has collaborated with Microsoft to create a live show that blends his music and visuals for a “more unique” and “psychedelic” experience. The creative team behind the show used the Microsoft Kinect and graphic effects to translate the album into an immersive live performance. Microsoft has collaborated with a handful of other artists interested in using technology to enhance the fan experience of their music, including Childish Gambino’s virtual reality edition of Awaken, My Love!
