Wavves Announce King of the Beach 10-Year Anniversary Tour

Last year, people lost their minds when Wavves frontman Nathan Williams posted on the band’s Instagram account about an eight-unit apartment building that he was currently renting out in Silver Lake. In a lot of people’s eyes, a group that had once been emblematic of stoner slacker culture had majorly sold out via their lead singer becoming a yuppie landlord.

But nostalgia is a powerful drug! Many (if not all?) of us have extremely fond memories of being 15 and wondering how we could get our hands on a Wavves merch bundle that included rolling papers, a grinder and a King of the Beach embossed lighter without one of our friends stealing their mom’s credit card. Years later, equipped with our own credit cards, the decades-long fantasy may now be sated.

Along with the King of the Beach 10-year anniversary tour will come a vinyl reissue of the album, featuring new album art, a “purple kush”-colored record, and a bonus 7” with the tracks “Mutant” and “Stained Glass (Won’t You Let Me Into Yr Heart).” The reissue, from Fat Possum Records, will hit shelves on April 10.
