Waxahatchee Announces Solo Tour Dates

Alabama singer-songwriter Waxahatchee, aka Katie Crutchfield, has announced solo tour dates in September.

Crutchfield has been touring extensively this year, both full band and solo, and she also made an appearance at this weekend’s Shaky Knees Festival. Paste’s Scott Russell praised the band’s Shaky Knees set, writing, “Waxahatchee gave a stand-out showing at their first Shaky Knees, making space for emotional reflection in an environment where noise often drowns out nuance.”

Crutchfield was previously announced as a supporting act for Courtney Barnett’s upcoming U.S. tour in October, and she will also appear at the Decemberists-curated Travelers Rest Festival in Missoula, Mont.

Support for her new solo tour dates will come from Anna St. Louis and Night Shops. Kansas City singer-songwriter Anna St. Louis recently released First Songs, an eight-track cassette tape, via Kevin Morby’s Mare Records, while Night Shops released an EP of demos last year and is also a member of L.A. garage-rock band Flat Worms.

Crutchfield’s latest full-length release came in 2017 via Merge Records with her critically lauded LP, Out In The Storm. You can read Paste’s interview with Crutchfield about the record here.
