Chicago-based Whitney isn’t exactly a rookie sensation; its two central members, Max Kakacek and Julien Ehrlich, formerly played with Smith Westerns and Unknown Mortal Orchestra, respectively. But the combination has already proven explosive, as the sextet’s limited releases thus far sound gorgeous. Today, they released a music video for their song “Golden Days,” off their upcoming Jun. 3 debut album Light Upon the Lake, and it sounds like they’ve managed to summon the spirit of George Harrison and gotten him to possess Neil Young—only less spooky.
