Whitney to Showcase New Music on Expanded U.S. Headlining Tour

Whitney are readying their much-anticipated sophomore album, the follow-up to 2016’s widely acclaimed Light Upon The Lake, for a 2019 release via Secretly Canadian. Julien Ehrlich and Max Kakacek will showcase this new music on their upcoming world tour, the U.S. leg of which they’ve expanded this Monday morning.

The Chicago-based country-soul outfit’s new shows include stops in St. Louis, Dallas, Houston, New Orleans, Atlanta, Denver and San Diego, among others, as well as second shows at Mohawk in Austin and Brooklyn Steel in New York in September and October, respectively. Whitney will also perform at a number of late-summer/early-fall festivals, including Pitchfork Music Festival, Green Man, Pukkelpop and Iceland Airwaves, in addition to headlining the recently announced Woodsist Festival.

Ticket pre-sale starts via the band’s email/text list this Wednesday, May 15, followed by general on-sale this Friday, May 17, at 10 a.m. local time.

As for Whitney’s new album, they revealed in February that the LP is “100% recorded,” so we’re anticipating a formal announcement any day now.

Stay tuned for more on Whitney’s new album and see the band’s new tour dates in bold below.
