Daily Dose is your daily source for the song you absolutely, positively need to hear every day. Curated by the Paste Music Team.
Brooklyn-based Widowspeak just put out their fourth album Expect the Best earlier this year, and today, they’re paying homage to one of the greats by sharing a cover of Neil Young’s “Harvest Moon,” the title track of his 1992 studio effort. They revamped the original, making it an ever-so-dreamy lullaby with glistening instrumentals and singer Holly Hamilton’s wistful voice. Layered guitars and vocals blend beautifully to create an atmospheric and ethereal sound, eerily reminiscent of a night sky during a harvest moon.
Listen to the cover below, and compare it to the original underneath. Further down, find Paste Cloud audio from Widowspeak’s 2012 Daytrotter Session.
