Wilco Announce 2019 Solid Sound Festival

Wilco have announced the return of their Solid Sound Festival, which takes place every other year at MASS MoCA in North Adams, Mass. The 2019 festival will take place from June 28-30, and will feature Wilco as headliners. The rest of the lineup has not been announced yet, but will feature “an eclectic, Wilco-selected musical lineup of indie, rock, jazz and more, as well as performances by Wilco members’ side-projects,” according to a press release. The festival will also include MASS MoCA’s extensive galleries, a comedy stage, “naturalist/outdoor activities” and more. Previous Solid Sound lineups have included Kurt Vile, Real Estate, Mac Demarco and other indie-rock notables.

Reduced-price early bird tickets will go on sale this Thursday, Oct. 18, along with campsite reservations for the official festival campground, Solid Ground. New this year is a limited “Friends of the Festival” ticketing option, which will include a festival poster signed by Wilco, an autographed copy of Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy’s forthcoming memoir, a “private lounge with an intimate pop-up performance” and more. Proceeds from Friends of the Festival Passes will benefit MASS MoCA’s arts education programs.

“After almost two years off the road, we’re going to be so excited to be back on stage together,” Tweedy said in a statement. “I can’t wait to have that feeling again.”
