Chris Stapleton, Emmylou Harris, More Added to Stacked Willie Nelson Tribute Lineup

Quite a few additions have been announced for Blackbird Presents’ Willie: Life & Songs Of an American Outlaw, a Willie Nelson All-Star Concerts Celebration, ranging from outlaw-country powerhouse Chris Stapleton to genre mainstay Emmylou Harris.

The one-time event—scheduled for Jan. 12, 2019, at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville—aims to celebrate Nelson’s decades-spanning career by uniting a stacked lineup of country artists to perform his greatest hits. The most recent additions include the aforementioned duo, as well as Eric Church, Jimmy Buffett, Bobby Bare, Jamey Johnson, Lukas Nelson, Margo Price, Micah Nelson, Nathaniel Rateliff, Ray Benson and Steve Earle. They join the already-impressive lineup, which includes the likes of Alison Krauss, The Avett Brothers, George Strait, Jack Johnson, John Mellencamp, Kris Kristofferson and, of course, Nelson himself.

“Willie and his songs mean everything to music artists and fans alike. Like Willie, they have inspired us to remain true to ourselves in every possible way,” said Keith Wortman, CEO of Blackbird, in a statement. “This incredible lineup of artists on this show is a testament to that.”

Nelson, the world’s most prolific octogenarian, has kept busy as of late, from performing at political rallies leading up to the 2018 midterms and releasing new songs in the spirit of voting to sharing his Grammy-nominated Frank Sinatra tribute album My Way. That’s just 2018.
