Wolf Parade Announce New Record Cry Cry Cry, Share Lead Single “Valley Boy”

Last year, Canadian indie rockers Wolf Parade reunited after a nearly six-year hiatus and released a self-titled EP. Today, the band announced their first full-length album in seven years and released a new song “Valley Boy,” which you can listen to below.

The new record titled, Cry Cry Cry, is the group’s first album to be produced by Pacific Northwest legend John Goodmanson, who’s worked on records with artists such as Bikini Kill, Sleater-Kinney and Unwound, and stands as a return to Sub Pop, which released all three of the group’s previous records. Cry Cry Cry is due out Oct. 6.

Wolf Parade have become associated with the distinct sound of sprawling, rhythm-heavy guitars, manic keys and soaring choruses, and the forthcoming record’s first single stays true to that trend. “Valley Boy” exemplifies Wolf Parade’s unique combination of energetic, textural sounds with complex, emotional lyrics and—if anything—proves the band is definitely back and ready to make up for lost time.
