The World Cup is set to go out with a bang this Sunday. A high-stakes match between Spain and Argentina will take place at the New York New Jersey Stadium on July 19, marking the first World Cup final featuring two Spanish-language countries since 1930. Prior to the competition, a 90-minute closing ceremony will take place with a slew of celebrities in attendance. Jennifer Hudson, Robbie Williams, Nicole Scherzinger, Laura Pasini, Tom Cruise, and IShowSpeed are set to perform. Post Malone will headline with a performance “designed to celebrate the tournament’s journey and ignite the atmosphere before the world’s attention turns to the two finalists,” according to FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
This year’s World Cup tournament was kicked off by performances from Shakira and Burna Boy. Other tournament performers have included Katy Perry, Future, Ellie Goulding, Michael Bublé, and Alanis Morissette. The final on Sunday will also host its first-ever halftime show, organized by Coldplay’s Chris Martin and set to feature Justin Bieber, Madonna, Shakira, and BTS. Both the closing ceremony and halftime show will be broadcast with the final match. Spain and Argentina will kick off at 3 p.m. ET on July 19, and the match will stream live on Peacock.
