Paste Ilegal Sessions: Watch Zach Person in Atlanta

Paste Studio on the Road joined our friends at Ilegal Mezcal for a day of Paste sessions at Atlanta’s Wild Heaven West End. Closing out the recordings was Zach Person. After getting his start in Austin, the New Jersey native has recently relocated to Atlanta, where he’s quickly making a name for himself. I’d first seen Person at the competitive Eddie’s Attic Open Mic Shootout, where he followed the footsteps of John Mayer, Jennifer Nettles and Tyler Childers in winning the biennial contest (a teenage Faye Webster was was a runner-up).
Full Session
Person kicked things off with “Wild” off his aptly named new sophomore album Let’s Get Loud.
“Wild”
Recorded with Tyler Bryant in Nashville, Let’s Get Loud captures the feeling he’s been developing for years in a live show in his electric live show, including the opening track, “Feel It.”
“Feel It”
Person is backed by his longtime drummer Jake Wyble. The two grew up in the same small New Jersey town before reconnecting in Austin and moving to Atlanta together. They’ve been busy touring Europe and North America, including a stop back in Texas for Austin City Limits.
“Muddy Water”
Big thanks to Zach Person, and our friends at Ilegal Mezcal for bringing these sessions to life, and please stay tuned for more Paste x Ilegal sessions to come!
