Remember when United States Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos did her best Brick Tamland impersonation during her Congressional confirmation and said that we need to arm schools to fend off bears? Well, that sounds like Shakesperian prose compared to the gobbledygook that sprang from her mouth on last night’s 60 Minutes. If I didn’t know who this was, you could convince me that she had never set foot in a school before.

Holy cow. Everyone in Trump’s administration is simultaneously the dumbest and most dishonest person in their field. It’s quite impressive, actually. The reason why DeVos couldn’t use words and phrases known to humans is because she doesn’t have the cognitive ability to lie like her predecessors. The central reason why she expressed a staggering lack of understanding of the inner workings of the schools she was appointed to oversee is because she knows that she can’t articulate her true goal: to destroy unions and defund public schools, then give that money to religious schools.

The Trump administration is staffed by a bunch of dollar store James Bond villains, and even though they provide hilarious moments like the one above, the comedy they generate is equaled only by the attendant fear—the immense power possessed by these people is just as glaringly obvious as their idiocy.
