Former Disney Starlet Caroline Sunshine Joins Trump Administration’s Communications Department

Former Shake It Up star Caroline Sunshine will be joining the Trump administration as a press assistant within the White House Communications Department, according to CNN.

Best known for playing Tinka Hessenheffer on the Disney Channel from 2010-2013, Sunshine has spent her post-Disney years acting in a few stage and film productions, including 2010’s Marmaduke. Sunshine recently attended Claremont McKenna College, interning for the Trump Administration during her time there, so her transition to a full-time position shouldn’t come as a surprise.

In a statement to CNN, White House spokeswoman Lindsay Walters said, “In college, [Sunshine] was involved with the American Enterprise Institute and an active member of her school’s Model United Nations team.” Walters added, “Prior to her internship at the White House, Caroline interned for the Office of House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, the College Republican National Committee and the California Republican Party.”

Sunshine serves as the latest famous face to join the Trump presidency. CNBC host Larry Kudlow was recently appointed as the director of the White House National Economic Council, along with the controversial appointment of former U.N. Ambassador and Fox News analyst John Bolton as the next National Security Adviser.
