Donald Trump Can’t Pronounce the Word “Nazi,” and We’re Very Confused About That

We all know Donald Trump can’t correctly pronounce any word that begins with the letter “h,” and he has no idea how to say “China.” Which is fine—that mostly seems like a product of his New York accent. But we honestly have no idea how to explain this one:

As you see from the chyron, this address came from the keynote address at a remembrance ceremony at the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington. And honestly, we’re pretty baffled. Here are a couple things we know about Donald Trump:

1. He barely reads, ever.

2. He watches a shit ton of TV.

Now, the only way you’d go around thinking “Nazi” was pronounced like the word “snazzy,” and not like the word “Yahtzee,” was if you had only read the word, but never heard it said out loud. On the other hand, if you were obsessed with TV, you’d theoretically have heard the word pronounced correctly thousands, if not millions, of times. (Or you ever had a two-minute conversation with Steve Bannon or Sebastian Gorka, am I right??)

In a presidency that has been alternately buffoonish and horrifying, this may be our first real mystery. What the hell is happening?
