Donald Trump Has a Lower Approval Rating Than All Four Congresswomen of Color He Told to “Go Back” to Homelands

President Trump’s approval rating is lower than those of all four women known as “The Squad” in Congress, according to a new poll from The Economist/YouGov.

Comprised of New York’s Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Minnesota’s Ilhan Omar, Michigan’s Rashida Tlaib and Massachusetts’ Ayanna Pressley, The Squad are notorious for being told to “go back” to “the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came” by Trump. Though neither The Squad nor Trump received positive ratings, the women fared significantly better than the man in the Oval Office.

Ocasio-Cortez received a -3 rating, Omar a -6, Pressley a -3 and Tlaib a -3, as well. Trumping (yes, that pun is 100% intended) all of them, the president received a whopping -11 rating.

The poll of 1,500 Americans was conducted between July 21-23, which is right around the time Trump spewed racist attacks against the women via his coveted Twitter.

The tweets have been deemed racist by The Squad and many others, but Trump has defended (poorly, we might add) his tweets, and, in fact, continued to tweet about the Congresswomen. A “send her back” chant even erupted at a recent Trump rally in reference to Omar.

Nonetheless, the new poll also shows Trump is trailing in ratings among independents, despite a closer gap. Trump is sitting at a -12, with Ocasio-Cortez at -7, Omar at -11, Tlaib at -6 and Pressley at -6.
