Sean Hannity Suggests Hawaii Travel Ban Judge Did “A Little Blow” with Obama
Photos by Rob Kim/GettyBarack Obama isn’t in office anymore, but that’s not stopping Fox News host Sean Hannity from continuing to spout new conspiracy theories about the former president.
In this case, Hannity suggested that U.S. District Court of Hawaii Judge Derrick Watson decided to block President Donald Trump’s revised travel ban because Watson graduated Harvard Law School a year before Barack Hussein Obama (as Hannity was once fond of calling him).
But that’s not all. Because they share an alma mater, Hannity suggests that Obama and Watson were smoking weed and snorting blow together. Hannity, who recently has taken to peddling Deep State conspiracies and pushing WikiLeaks agendas, wondered aloud if Watson was a part of Obama’s storied “Choom Gang,” a group of friends in Hawaii who would hang out and smoke together, saying:
By the way, this judge who issued the travel ban ruling is an Obama law school classmate. Maybe he should have recused himself from the case. Just a maybe. Were they best friends in Hawaii, were they part of the Choom Gang, smoking pot and hanging out and doing a little bit of weed and maybe even a little blow?
So the long and short of it is that Hannity thinks maybe the reason Watson blocked the new travel ban is because he fondly remembers the days of him and Obama getting blunted.
The conspiracy theory, as strange as it might seem, is of a piece with the nascent #BoycottHawaii movement which had some Twitter users suggesting that citizens of Hawaii don’t understand the importance of halting immigration from Muslim-majority countries because the island is so far away from New York City that Hawaiians don’t understand the devastation of Sept. 11. (Nevermind that Pearl Harbor happened in the state.)
Of course such conspiracy theories, emanating from any ideological perspective, aren’t meant to withstand the strict scrutiny of logic, but are formed to explain away political inconveniences and discrepancies.
