5 Must-Have Soccer Apps Ahead of the 2016-17 Season
Photo by Mike Hewitt/GettySummer is almost over and you know what that means, soccer leagues from around Europe are back! With offerings like the English Premier League, La Liga, MLS, Ligue 1, etc., it can be a hassle trying to keep track of everything. To help you out, we decided to share some of our favorite apps to help you stay up to date.
Bleacher Report (iOS/Android; free)
This is not a soccer specific app but who doesn’t know about Bleacher Report? Get push notifications on breaking news, scores, and more.
Live Football TV (iOS; free)
This is a great app that will show you kick off times and which channel the game is on so you don’t have to endlessly go from channel to channel. Along with that, they have game states, live scores, and news.
One Football (iOS/Android/Windows Phone; free)
This is probably the best all-around app to have on your phone. It has everything – news (pulled in from Goal.com), scores, commentary, and stats all beautifully displayed within the app and also provides push notifications for in-game stats and team/league news.
Soccer Scores Pro – FotMob (iOS/Android; free)
My go-to app for a few years now. It does a great job displaying game information like when your favorite teams are playing, in-game commentary, and which games from certain leagues are on. The only downside is it doesn’t do a good job displaying breaking and recent news.
Stats Zone by FourFourTwo (iOS/Android; free)
Made by FourFourTwo magazine, the app uses Opta data to provide up to the second match statistics for the top leagues and teams so you can impress your friends. The app also pulls in new articles from their main website and is a must-have for the upcoming season.
