The former Bayer Leverkusen defender picked up the ball early in the match, and sent a 50-yard rocket of a pass through five Chelsea players to a waiting Alberto Moreno. The other explanation, of course, is that Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas, John Obi Mikel, Willian, and Branislav Ivanovic all felt it was time for Can to earn his first senior appearance for the German national team, and conspired to make him look more attractive to Joachim Low.
