With several fresh faces on the field and on the bench trying to make the Olympic squad, the US Women’s National Team beat Ireland handily this past Saturday, 5-0.
Kicking off 2016 with a friendly game before CONCACAF Olympic Qualifiers in February, Carli Lloyd picked up just where she left off in a remarkable 2015 that was capped with FIFA’s World Player of the Year. The newly named co-captain (along with Becky Sauerbrunn), scored a hat trick in the first twenty-eight minutes of the game. The sixth of her career.
