Manchester United’s Team Bus Was “Smashed Up” By West Ham Fans
Photo by Paul Gilham/GettyWest Ham were forced to delay kickoff of their last game at Upton Park due to deplorable behavior by some West Ham fans.
As Manchester United’s team bus made their way to the Boleyn Ground, crawled slowly through streets lined with Hammers fans. At one point, some of them started throwing glass bottles and other objects at the bus, causing serious damage (and almost certainly putting the players and staff on edge).

West Ham chairman spoke to BBC Radio after the delay of kickoff was announced to express frustration… at the visiting team. “I don’t understand why Manchester United didn’t get here earlier. We got here at 4pm.” Kickoff is (tentatively) scheduled to go ahead for 8:30pm local time (3:30pm EST).
