Watch FC Nurnberg Score with a Nine-Second Counter Attack

They say lightning doesn’t strike twice, but once was enough for FC Nurnberg on Sunday against FC Ingolstadt in the Bundesliga II. Early in the first half and with Nurnberg already in the lead, the team launched a blistering counterattack that covered the length of the pitch in nine seconds.

The lightning-fast goal actually began with an Ingolstadt corner. Nurnberg goalkeeper Patrick Rakovsky caught the crossed ball and then rapidly punted it 70 yards to Jakub Sylvestr. The 25-year-old striker’s brilliant outside-of-the-foot first touch separated him from his pursuers, then he rounded the onrushing goalkeeper and slotted home expertly. Nurnberg held on to win the match 2-1, despite a second-half red card and Ingolstadt’s resulting tactic of laying down speed bumps.
