Manuel Neuer has spent the past year humiliating a wide spectrum of opponents, with his brilliant shot stopping abilities frequently outdone by his tendency to function as a sweeper-keeper. At times, some of his tricks and flicks have made opposing players look downright silly. Today, he got a taste of his own medicine.
Although the World Cup winner has gained a reputation for being good with his feet, Neuer suffered the ignominy of conceding a goal whilst being nutmegged. The incident came in the first half of Bayern Munich’s match against Mainz 05, and was scored by Colombian midfielder Elkin Soto. However, given his competitive nature, don’t be surprised if Neuer makes up for it in his next match by scoring a bicycle from midfield.
